When deciding on the best organic nutrients for cannabis there are a few things to consider. Many traditional cultivation techniques revolve around the repeated addition of liquid amendments. Plants grown with deep water culture systems have roots that never touch soil throughout their entire life cycle. Inert mediums (such as coco/perlite) rely on nutrient solutions that drain to waste.

Many of the products available for a variety of these cultivation techniques purport to be organic, using phrasing like ‘derived from organic materials’ or ‘contains all-natural ingredients’. These products are certainly capable of contributing to an ample harvest. However, using organic nutrients as a separate entity from a grow medium itself is far from natural, no matter the merit of any claims made.

Plants, including cannabis, evolved specific strategies for prosperity long before humans intervened. These strategies are based on utilizing nutrients made available via organisms found in the soil around their roots, not aqueous nutrients that abuse roots with blitzkrieg force-feedings.

This is why the best organic nutrients for cannabis are the ones contained in a healthy soil mix from the start. A complementary water-only approach thus remains about as close to nature as you can get with an indoor garden. The only role you need to fill is one of a rain cloud.

The earth beneath a city block is much different than the earth beneath a lush forest. Wherever vegetation naturally flourishes, a teeming world of soil microbes undoubtedly lies below. These communities of hard-working organisms are as fascinating and diverse as, for instance, those found in the sea.

The vast array of marine life hidden throughout the oceans of the world is invaluable to the sustenance of land-based ecosystems and the same is true in regard to soil microbes. Bacteria and fungi are just a few classifications of organisms that share intimate relationships with the plants we depend on, knowing how to maintain their populations is key to maximizing the results of an organic crop.

As cannabis policy reform continues to unfold across America, many curious citizens are wondering how to grow cannabis indoors in soil since they can now do so without breaking the law. Anyone who has visited a grow supply store can attest to the countless options available for the home garden; newcomers to the growing community often find themselves at a loss for where to start.

Aside from the inherent advantages to yield quality, starting with a soil grow is a great way for beginners to get in touch with the plant. The less variables new gardeners have to control, the better their chances of success and the richer the learning experience is in regard to the fundamentals of growing.

With nutritional requirements fulfilled by a quality soil mix, a successful garden is dependant on just a few other vital factors: air, water, light, dark, and a seed (or clone). Horticultural grow tents are a great way to create an ideal environment for your garden if you don’t have a spare room!

Ideal 420 Soil revolves around the science of the soil. We never stop observing, testing, or refining the means with which to grow top quality organic cannabis…we love our blends! Of course, people are naturally biased. Science however, has no opinion. We would hardly feel worthy of the white coat if we didn’t expressly adhere to the scientific method while developing our products. Our own tests show fantastic results, but we’ve also had our peers attempt to reproduce them independently.

The soil reviews keep pouring in as more growers discover Ideal 420 Soil. We’re proud to report many resounding successes from our testers and critics. The consensus wasn’t surprising, but we’ve always got to be certain Ideal 420 Soil works as well for our customers as it does for us.

What’s so great about organic soil? Well, in the words of Young Frankenstein…“IT’S ALIVE!” Fertile soil in nature contains so much more than the raw materials plants need to grow-it’s home to a whole other world of living things thriving in the subterranean darkness. This is why the best soil for cannabis is organic, many of these organisms are indispensable when it comes to hearty crop production.

It doesn’t take a veteran cannabis aficionado to tell the difference between a synthetic and organic crop. Despite the millions upon millions of bacteria, rampant fungal growth, and a whole host of other micro-critters…cannabis grown with organic soil is undoubtedly the cleanest flower there is!

According to the most recent data available from the US Census Bureau, the number of disabled Americans is over 37 million. Whether a condition is mental or physical, if medical cannabis can help someone with a disability then it should be both accessible and reliable. State cannabis regulation has been a large step in the right direction, but there’s a long way to go before all those who can benefit from medical cannabis can legally obtain it.

Certain jurisdictions-most recently Washington D.C.-have legalized cannabis possession and use, but not its sale. Elsewhere, in states such as Colorado or Washington, those with a disability may have difficulty traveling to a recreational shop or medical dispensary.

In an effort to emphasize legal limitations, authorities in Washington D.C. have adopted a new motto: ‘Home use. Home grown’. In many cases well outside our nation’s capital, this suggestion offers the best solution for access to safe medicine. A simple in-home garden can provide a steady supply of cannabis and organic methods produce the highest quality yields.

Indica and hybrid cannabis varieties are often favored by growers because of shorter flowering times and spatial efficiency. Growing sativa however, presents its own set of unique benefits. Today’s most pure sativa varieties can trace their ancestry to areas of the world have longer growing seasons, such as Thailand and South Africa.

Without the extended flowering time of classics such as Durban Poison, Chocolope, or Super Lemon Haze, the unique soaring sativa effect simply cannot be achieved. When it’s time to harvest, uplifting notes of citrus and pine will make the bit of extra time well worth the wait.

Plants get hungry. They need a nutritious and well-balanced diet to live well, just like us. Similarly, avoiding processed and synthetic food is beneficial for plants as well as humans. Of course cannabis hardly has a choice about where it’s planted, so it’s up to the grower to provide the medium containing the most nutritious components possible.

Cannabis nutrients found in stores are certainly an option and many are effective when applied to specific situations. The cannabis plant however, has a span of nutritive preferences between its two primary subspecies (indica and sativa). Choosing individual components as needed across an entire grow cycle, especially one with different varieties, quickly becomes cumbersome. The best way to achieve the optimal organic harvest is to carefully select a soil mix containing everything cannabis needs from the start.

A few wise words from a growing guru, and dear friend of mine, have echoed with me for years: “Many swear by the KIS method.” His success at the time had me turning red in the face. With no more than a ragtag collection of garden supplies, he always managed to maintain a spectacular carefree grow.

My rival project was outfit with the works: advanced LED lighting panels, digital timers, inline fans, carbon filters, and a soil medium meant to be used in conjunction with a highly specific nutrient regimen. I monitored everything incessantly, imagining myself as some scientific prodigy with every gadget on the market.

I now know the untimely end of that project was inevitable. My convoluted setup collapsed under the weight of its own sophistication. No single error was to blame, rather it was the cascading failures of many unnecessary measures which ultimately doomed my crop. The amount of money I’d spent was heinous, and the result was sadly nonexistent.

Today I look back on that experience and laugh. It took the serendipitous discovery of Ideal 420 Soil to rekindle my gardening motivation, but I’ve since joined the ranks of the many my friend spoke of: those who swear by the Keep-It-Simple method. Ideal 420 Soil is now my blend of choice-producing flowers like it was developed especially for us KIS loyalists.
