How To Use


Seed Germination

  • Even though Ideal 420 Soil is packed with nutrients, it’s safe for germinating seeds directly.
  • Use only pure sources for watering, such as distilled or reverse osmosis (RO) water.
  1. Place the soil in a watered plug (approx. 2.5” to 4” deep x approx. 2” diameter plug).
  2. Place the seed about ¼ – ½ beneath the surface, and cover with plastic wrap in order to keep it hydrated throughout germination.
  3. Keep the plug in a warm area, and check its surface periodically.
  4. When a sprout emerges, in anywhere from a few days to a week, remove the plastic wrap.
  5. Allow the seed casing to fall off naturally.
  6. When the plant starts to develop true leaf sets, increase lighting.
  7. After a visible root system has developed, it’s ready for transplantation just like a clone.

Clone Transplant

  • Source clones wisely. Introducing foreign elements into a controlled organic environment presents a risk of contamination, and prevention is the best defense against harmful pests and pathogens.
  • Like seedlings, transplant clones only after they have developed well-established root mass.
  • Use only pure sources for watering, such as distilled or reverse osmosis (RO) water.
  1. Prepare a container with ample drainage capability. Choose the size based on your desired yield, we recommend using .5 cubic ft (approximately 3.75 gallons) per plant for the most efficient results.
  2. Fill in the container with Ideal 420 Soil, patting it down gently to even the consistency while maintaining porosity.
  3. Evenly water the entire container until it runs out the bottom.
  4. Wait for the container to drain before digging a hole for a future transplant.
  5. Dampen the medium of the clone if necessary. Place it carefully into the new soil and be sure it’s root mass is entirely covered.
  6. Pat down the surrounding soil, and let water do the rest.
