Victory Gardens
In an iconic victory for cannabis this past November, the nation’s capital passed Initiative 71. With more than 70% of voters supporting the transition into cannabis regulation, Washington D.C. will soon join the fold. While possession of up to one ounce of cannabis will become legal as early as next month, sales will still be prohibited.
Even though Washington D.C. will not yet be following the recreational storefront example set by states such as Colorado and Washington, personal cultivation of up to six plants remains part of the groundbreaking initiative. Capitol Hill itself is soon to be surrounded by residential grows, and each will become a beacon of change as the United States transitions into a new age of drug policy reform.
